Texans vs Chiefs Live

Texans vs Chiefs Live Reddit: The first game of the 2020 NFL season features the Houston Texans against the Kansas City Chiefs. It is time for the 2020 NFL season to get started and who better to help kickoff the very first game of the season than the Houston Texans traveling to take on the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

The story has been retold more times than Houston Texans fans would like to remember, but the Texans had the worst collapse in franchise history the last time they were on the field in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. That was then and this is now, as the Chiefs went on to win the Super Bowl and the Texans have made some vast changes to their roster, with the biggest change being trading DeAndre Hopkins due to contract issues.

Now with the Houston Texans scheduled to face the same team they last played in a game, it is time for Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt to get the Texans back on track — and back in the saddle so to speak — as it is time to concentrate on the 2020 NFL season and leave everything else in the past.

Watt missed eight games last season, but returned for the playoffs though he wasn’t his usual self. This will be the 10th season for Watt, but he also looks to be in some of the very best shape in his career, so if he can stay healthy he’ll be a force for the team.

Watson was rewarded for his outstanding career thus far with a new contract extension this offseason that made him a very wealthy man. He’s also one of the highest paid two players in the entire NFL, with the other being Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The TV channel for tonight’s game between the Chiefs and the Texans is the same TV channel that has broadcast the last 14 Thursday night NFL season-openers. The 15th consecutive NFL kickoff game on cable network NBC, though, will be unique in the unfortunate reality of 2020.

This won’t be the Super Bowl celebration the Chiefs had hoped to receive. Because of the threat of COVID-19, only about 22 percent of Arrowhead Stadium’s capacity was allowed to be filled by fans. Which might not matter much to TV viewers, but the on-field experience will be unprecedented.

The relative lack of fans in the stadium is just one of many oddities TV viewers will see during NFL games during the pandemic. The league’s coronavirus protocols cover everything from the national anthem to the coin toss to media and team/league personnel on the sidelines. Get used to it, because this is how the NFL is mitigating health risks in an effort to keep the 2020 season on schedule.
